I have a bit of a thing for mugs, and as my current collection was looking a bit tired, imagine my delight to be gifted a selection from Denby’s new hand-decorated mugs range.  I chose the white speckled, and dark grey vertical wax designs and I’m super pleased with the new additions to my kitchenware!

The new hand-decorated mugs range from Denby combines traditional skills with a contemporary twist, incorporating new techniques with old.  As a trusted brand established in 1809, Denby are well known for their quality craftmanship and designs, so it’s no surprise that “each piece passes through at least 20 pairs of hands before it gets the Denby stamp of approval” (Denby).

I’ve been putting my mugs through their paces for a couple of weeks now, and this new collection does not disappoint!

The range comes in a variety of patterns and shades to suit all tastes and colour schemes. They are large mugs with a 400ml capacity, so if like me, you prefer a decent sized cuppa, then these are the mugs for you. Perfect for tea, coffee, or whatever your beverage of choice may be.

The white speckled mug (also available in grey) has become my new favourite. It’s so true that tea tastes better out of certain mugs and this one is no exception! It is lightweight and comfortable to hold, with a high quality finish. I love how the matt white contrasts with the glossy speckled splatter effect, which is meticulously carried through to the handle and base.

The new Denby hand-decorated mugs collection is dishwasher and microwave safe, however, hand washing will be more forgiving to the wear and tear of the mugs over time. And I always like to hand wash my favourite kitchenware. Much to Andy’s annoyance, who would prefer to throw everything in the dishwasher!

Denby Pottery is ‘styled by life’, for ‘versatility, beauty, and durability’, which makes their pieces ideal for everyday use like your morning brew, as well as the go to mugs you want to show off when you have visitors.

The dark grey vertical wax crayon mug, which is also available in light grey, caught my eye due to its contemporary style and animal print vibe. It’s proven a great companion for my afternoon Cappuccino. This design is Andy’s favourite, due to its masculine shade and lines and would look very apt in any self respecting bachelor pad.

The vertical wax crayon pattern is hand drawn, making each piece unique, as are all the styles in the range. Every item feels special, but at the same time is affordable. So it’s a win, win situation!

The rest of the Denby hand-decorated mugs collection is equally stylish, incorporating on trend marble effects along with spots and stripes. This stunning range is definitely worth a look and one I would personally recommend.

I’m sure I’ll continue to have years of use and enjoyment from my Denby mugs, due to their timeless and quality design. They’ve already become a part of my favourite everyday items.
